Total Physiotherapy understands that runners do not want to stop running. Our team enjoys the challenges of managing injuries in runners or even better, preventing them in the first place! We keep up to date on the latest rehabilitation trends and best evidence  - there is more to dealing with running injuries than just diagnosis and treatment.

If you present to Total Physiotherapy, you will receive:

  • Thorough Assessment of your injury and the impact it has on your running.

  • A Strength & Stability Assessment in Thrive Gym - Assessing any weaknesses that may predispose you to injury in your trunk, core, hips, knees or ankles. With our new VALD force plates we can give you accurate isometric strength testing, balance testing and hop tests.

  • A Review of all Associated Factors such as your running training program (have you rapidly increased distance/speed or both?), changes to running terrain, previous injury history, running footwear, and running technique.

  • A Treadmill Assessment of your running biomechanics in Thrive Gym - We can assess you at different speeds with video analysis of your running style to see how it might be affecting your performance.

  • A Goal-Oriented Plan to resolve the injury and keep you on track towards your race/goal. This will include an individualised strength and conditioning program and potential modifications to your current running plan.

  • Advice on ways you may be able to Improve your Performance and Reduce Future Injury Risk.
